Hosted Services

Friendship House acts as a hub for other services within our community.

Our objectives are to help our North Waikato Community to live inclusively, be independent, and sustain a healthy lifestyle by getting them to health appointments. We have a roster of Volunteers and support people who will pick up clients from their homes and take them to their much-needed medical appointments.

There are no criteria for using the health shuttle; all we need is 48 working hours’ notice and a Koha/Donation.

Anyone can access the service, especially those with disabilities or who are bound to a wheelchair—those who are not allowed to drive because of a medical condition, procedure, or age. We even support those troubled with driving in Hamilton because of anxieties or struggle with parking in the hospital parking lot.
If you know someone who may need to use our service, please give them our phone number: 0800 828 865 to make a booking.

Bellyful nourishes and connects communities by cooking and delivering free meals to whānau with babies or young children, who need support.
Having a new baby, or young children, can be really, really hard work! And having a good support network is one of the main ingredients for getting through those early stages.

Bellyful’s main criteria are simply that the whānau we support have babies or young children, and don’t have others available to do what we do – cook and deliver free meals.

North Waikato Rainbow Community is for all LGBTQIA+ people living in the Northern Waikato region.

NWRC host a monthly youth group for teens and young adults between the ages of 12 and 24.

2026 Dates – 5th February, 5th March, 2nd April, 7th May, 4th June, 2nd July, 6th August, 3rd September, 1st October, 8th November, 3rd December.

Each session is made up of arts/ craft/ games/ chill out and kai. Supported by a facilitator.

Whānau Āwhina Plunket is a charity and Aotearoa New Zealand’s largest support service for the health and wellbeing of tamariki under-five and their whānau.
